PROJECT: Publications

CLIENT: Women Executives in State Government

BACKGROUND:
WESG asked us to revamp their 16-page, 2-color, quarterly newsletter “WESG NEWS” to address the expanded needs and interests of their membership. The primary goal was to elevate the tone, content and look of the publication to more accurately reflect the caliber of the membership.

SOLUTIONS: Since this is the main communication vehicle of WESG and to achieve the client objectives above, we suggested the following:
It would be infinitely better in a magazine format.
By introducing 8 pages of full color (4 covers and 4 inside pages), it:
-----
Gives more impact on front cover.
----- Allows full-color ads, introducing a new source of non-dues revenue.
Give it a more identifiable name “FORUM.”
Have an illustration on the cover for the feature article.
Have the primary content focus on the members, not on the national office.

CLIENT QUOTE: “To achieve success in this endeavor, we needed to move our simple in-house operation to a company that could provide one-stop service for all aspects of suggesting new content, format and re design, followed by layout, production, and coordinating printing and mailing for each issue. In relatively short time, working with the Anas team, we accomplished the end results below which have been rewarding on several fronts:
––– We successfully branded the organization to new and tenured members
––– We invigorated a tired publication and heightened awareness among members
––– We reached unprecedented levels of member involvement
––– We introduced corporate ads, thereby providing an influx of funds
––– We outsourced much of the coordination work that staff would have spent time on.

Thanks to the Anas team, our association’s image is now truly representative of the caliber of women we represent.
